The president honored the nation’s top cops today. In a rose garden ceremony president Obama welcomed the national association of police organization’s award winners. Police officers from 10 states were recognized, along with agents from the drug enforcement administration. In addition to his gratitude, the president pledged his support to law enforcement.

He said, “I want to thank all of you for your extraordinary service. I am honored to welcome you to the White House. I’m proud to offer my congratulations, my appreciation, and most importantly, my administration’s unwavering support . . . You deserve more than just praise. For it’s far more important that we actually support you, that we match these words, which come so easily, with the work that can and must follow.”
