Teenage sons celebrate their dads

The lack of black fathers is a subject given its share of attention in mainstream media. The fact that there is a rising number of black children born into a single-parent home is worth the attention.

However, we should never neglect to celebrate the countless number of African-American men who proudly commit to fatherhood. These men may never make the cover of a newspaper or headline a broadcast, but these men mean everything to the lives of the children they continue to inspire.

In honor of Father’s Day, theGrio.com’s correspondent, Chay Lee, spoke with black teenage boys on lessons they’ve learned from their dads and what their fathers mean to them.
