PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A group of black police officers in Philadelphia want a federal judge to shut down an Internet discussion forum on which officers have allegedly posted hundreds of racist comments.

The Guardian Civic League on Monday filed a request for an injunction that would ban the site, www.domelights.com, from the workplace.

The action comes after the group filed a federal lawsuit against the Philadelphia Police Department last week.

The site is not run by the department.

The league, along with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers, wants the department to have the site shut down.

Department officials have declined comment on the lawsuit.
