On Tuesday, October 13th, we held our premier event for theGrio Lounge Debate Series at Taj Lounge in NYC.
The topic of the debate was “Racism should not be the central focus of black media in a post-racial world.” John McWhorter, Senior Fellow at The Manhattan Institue, argued for the motion and Terence Samuel, the Deputy Editor of theroot.com argued against the motion.
The debate was introduced by our Managing Editor, David Wilson, and it was moderated by Digital Correspondent for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Mara Schiavocampo.
