An Alabama high school teacher who taught a teaching example of shooting off the president’s ear has now apologized for his quote “error in judgment”.

Coach Gregory Harrison will now forfeit ten days pay for the inappropriate math lesson.

Shea Cameron is a former student of Harrison’s and one of his many supporters here and on a Facebook page titled, “Keep Coach Harrison”.

“I believe that the example that the student gave was if you were to shoot the presidents ear off and Coach Harrison said that would be the point of tangency,” said former student Shea Cameron.

The apology was part of the negotiated settlement with the Jefferson County School Board in order for Harrison to keep his job.

As for his former student, Cameron understands why the board had to punish Coach Harrison but didn’t think it was an “accurate punishment.”

“I honestly don’t believe a reprimand was necessary, I believe that he had a lapse in judgment, absolutely, but it was not intended to harm anyone,” she said.

The Secret Service investigated and found it to not be a credible threat.

Coach Harrison will also have to attend sensitivity training this summer and a formal reprimand will be placed in his employee file.
