  • 2) I Am Legend (2007): In arguably one of his greatest dramatic performances, Smith held the screen virtually all by himself for most of this apocalyptic thriller's running time. He plays a military scientist who may or may not be the last man on the planet. A scary good time at the movies.

Alvin Greene in his own words: 'Make toys of me for the holidays'

Now that jobless veteran Alvin Greene has won the Democratic primary for South Carolina Senate, he’s started making his rounds on the media circuit. But some of Greene’s comments have managed to raise more than just a few eyebrows.

While some of his quotes certainly serve for good campaign fodder, Greene’s public speaking skills may, in fact, be improving as his candidacy continues. Only time will tell how this bodes for his future as a potential U.S. Senator.

Here’s a Grio exclusive compilation of the Top 10 wackiest Alvin Greene quotes:

#10
Alvin Greene on his questionable military discharge:

“I left the Air Force in September ‘05, I ran through some problems, dealing with rank. It’s a long story. I guess that will be the next thing they will be focusing on.”

#9
Alvin Greene on how he feels about his unlikely victory :

“I got 60 percent of the vote and 60 percent is not luck. 60 percent is not luck…if it was 51 percent then maybe it would be luck, but 60 percent of the vote is not luck.”

#8
Alvin Greene on how he generated the $10,000 filing fee despite his unemployment:

“That was my personal pay, money out of my pocket.”

#7
Alvin Green on pending felony charges for allegedly showing pornographic images to a college student:

“No comment…My lawyer is dealing with that.

#6
Alvin Greene on accusations that he is a Republican plant :

“I’ve always been a Democrat. I’m a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat.”

#5
Alvin Greene when told that two lawmakers think he suffers from mental impairment :

“I say that back to them. They’re the knuckleheads.” (laughter)

#4
Alvin Greene on whether he has any intention of yielding to the Democratic party’s wishes and withdrawing his candidacy :

“The election was certified as of 3:00PM Eastern Standard Time yesterday…so I’m on the ballot here on out. I’m in all the way and I’m the best candidate for the United States Senate…in this race…in South Carolina.”

#3
Alvin Greene on the issues he’d like to tackle:

“We want to make sure the punishment fits the crime. We know about the statistics in the judicial system in our country.”

#2
Alvin Greene on his popularity as a candidate:

“I am the best candidate for the United States Senate in South Carolina. And I am also the best person to be TIME Magazine’s Man of the Year.”

#1
Alvin Greene on solving the jobs crisis:

“Another thing we can do for jobs is make toys of me, especially for the holidays. Little dolls. Me. Like maybe little action dolls. Me in an army uniform, air force uniform, and me in my suit. They can make toys of me and my vehicle, especially for the holidays and Christmas for the kids. That’s something that would create jobs. So you see I think out of the box like that. It’s not something a typical person would bring up. That’s something that could happen, that makes sense. It’s not a joke.”

BONUS
Alvin Greene when asked, during a brief interview outside his father’s home, what kind of campaigning he did to win the nomination:
“Can I end this?”
