Lil WayneEven though he is currently behind bars, Lil Wayne is still the biggest act in hip hop. And he prides himself in speaking truth to power. Something tells us Sarah Palin would be no match for “Weezy”.

Rapper Lil Wayne, who is jailed on New York’s Rikers Island on a weapons charge hardly makes life behind bars sound grueling on his blog.

The hip hop star, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, says he is writing lyrics, working with other rappers, keeping in contact with fans and loved ones and getting plenty of sleep as he completes his one-year sentence. Wayne pleaded guilty last October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and began serving his time in March.

“I wake up around 11a.m.,” he wrote on his Weezy Thanx You blog. “Have some coffee. Call my kids, and my wonderful mother. I then shower up. Read fan mail. Have lunch. Back on the phone. Read a book or write some thoughts down. Have dinner. Phone. Pushups. Then I listen to ESPN on the radio. Read the Bible, then sleep. That’s my day.”

“I’ve been writing and let me be the first to tell you that the lyrics that I’m writing are… well there’s no word that I can think of that properly defines them,” he writes. “Amazing would be too typical and perfect would be unfair.”

Wayne contributed tracks to Drake’s “Light Up” remix, which he recorded over the prison telephone. He has gotten into some trouble in jail, getting busted with unauthorized headphones and an iPod.

Wayne has roughly four months left on his sentence and plans to release a new EP titled “I’m Not a Human Being” on Sept. 27, his 28th birthday.
