Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, not only raps, but also stars in three upcoming films: Gun, Things Fall Apart and Twelve.

As the writer of Gun, which recently premiered in a Latin Film Festival, 50 Cent has worked closely with actor Val Kilmer.

However, most shocking were images that surfaced in magazines and over the Internet of the frail rapper who lost 60 pounds in nine weeks for one of his roles. In Things Fall Apart, 50 Cent plays a football player who is diagnosed with cancer.

“It’s an interesting project, I mean considering cancer. One out of eight people in the world die of cancer topping malaria, tuberculosis and HIV together,” 50 Cent said.

From his personal experiences, 50 Cent had a friend who died from cancer and used their story as motivation to play this role. He says that he lost the weight by drinking lots of liquids, using the lemonade and cayenne pepper diet and doing cardio training.

“My energy level started to drop, so I started to loose some of the weight so I started speed walking,” 50 Cent.

Unlike Things Fall Apart, 50 Cent work with Chace Crawford and cast members of Gossip Girl for the film Twelve—which shows the story of rich kids getting involved with drugs.
