Lyfe Jennings' 'I Still Believe' looks out for ladies

While interluding with his vocal musicality, Lyfe Jennings told us about his upcoming album, “I Still Believe” and his most powerful song on that album, “Statistics”.
This album represents a major change for Jennings because it is the first to be produced under his own label. “My last album I kinda got away from what I normally do, but this one I just kinda went back to what I do, and what I do best,” says Jennings when comparing his last album to “I Still Believe”. “It really gives me the control, like I can pretty much do what I want to do,” he continues.
When asked about the new single “Statistics”, he discusses where he derives the inspiration to sing about women and the issues they face. “I have a daughter, I have nieces. We always talk about the effects of men by not having a father in their life, but we don’t really talk about the effects of women,” says Jennings.
“I just think there’s enough people talking about all that stuff. We’ve got people speaking negatively on women and speaking to women in some of the most negative ways on the radio and if they are talking about them positively, it always connects them to something sexual,” says Jennings.
“I want every child whether it be woman or female to make a great decision, but I think in order for them to do that, they need some great information and nobody else is doing that, so that’s what I do.”
