A Florida pastor plans to observe one of the biggest tragedies in U.S. history with what he calls “Burn a Koran Day”.The planned event has sparked an international outcry.

“This type of hate speech actually incites radicals and extremist across the globe,” warns Asad Ba-Yunis of the Muslim Communities Association of South Florida. The Gainesville, Florida church’s plan to burn the Islamic holy book has prompted protests as far away as Kabul, Afghanistan.At the Islamic Center of Greater Miami they are concerned about the backlash and hate crimes that could directly affect those who gather to pray and practice their faith.

“While we all recognize the First Amendment freedom of speech and expression that the Dove Center, we also recognize that the freedom of religion and the intolerance that’s attacking that freedom of religion is something we must all stand against,” Ba-Yunis says.
