At Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Mich., Dawn Hill’s classmates voted her “most likely to become Oprah.”

Ms. Hill, 24, is a local producer and a fledgling voice-over artist for commercials on the radio stations WBLS and WLIB.

I was raised by my mother. I think the reason I was always so interested in voice-overs was that when she read to me, she changed her voice for every character.

I was on my college forensics team; Oprah was on hers, too. But Egypt is the person I most identify with. Ultimately, I’m going to be a media personality and inspirational speaker, and I will have my own talk show.
