MACON — Macon police say a teenage boy shot a 7-year-old, then turned the gun on himself. Both boys died at the scene.
According to police, it happened at 2280 Arrowwood Drive in south Macon just after midnight Saturday.
A police news release says that 19-year-old Vonn Gibbons, Jr. shot 7-year-old Jaylon Griffin in the head.
Bibb County coroner Leon Jones said it appeared that Gibbons intentionally shot Griffin. Police have not reported how and why it happened.
Police say Gibbons then shot himself in the chest. According to Bibb County coroner Leon Jones, Gibbons’ mother was babysitting the younger child at her home.
