The Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper reported Wednesday that police say Blackstone argued with his girlfriend at their apartment and ignored his calls after she left.

She told police that she later got a text message telling her that if she had answered her phone her “dog would still be alive.” The dog was between 3 months and 5 months old.

Blackstone was being held on $10,000 bond at the El Paso County Jail.
