Janice Stallings remembers the last conversation she had with her daughter, Phylicia.

“Saturday on Christmas, I was wishing her a happy Christmas and telling her I miss you and next year you’re not going anywhere because I miss you.”

Phylicia barnes, whose case has now been turned over to the homicide division is still missing.

Baltimore City police were continuing to search for Phylicia Barnes, 16, who disappeared from the Reisterstown Square Apartments in the 6500 block of Eberle Drive last week, an area now awash in fliers with her picture. The North Carolina teen was spending Christmas break with relatives.

“Please release her. Let her go so she can come home to her family so we can end this nightmare, ” said Russell Barnes, father of missing teen.

On Saturday, family and friends gathered to support each other and plea for the honor roll student’s safe return. “I know she’s traumatized right now. She’s scared out of her mind right now. She’s a little innocent girl who does not do any harm to anyone,” Stallings said.

The waiting and worrying is taking a toll. “My family is not sleeping. My family is not eating. My family isn’t even in the right focus, but on this situation,” said Barnes’ father, Russell Barnes.

When last seen, Barnes was wearing a navy pea coat with a hood, blue jeans, a turquoise shirt and white slippers. Although Maryland State police are working with city police to find the missing teen, officials maintain that it did not appear that there was any foul play when she left the Resiterstown complex.

Baltimore City police were asking anyone with information about Barnes’ disappearance to contact them.
