The Rev. Al Sharpton kicked off 2011 by announcing he is writing a memoir and hopes to build a $20 million headquarters in Harlem.

The memoir’s working title is “Mountain Highs and Valley Lows.” It will be co-written by journalist Karen Hunter, who was part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1999 Daily News Editorial Board.

Sharpton said his tale will range from highs like “standing at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s grave when Barack Obama won the presidency” to lows like the death of Michael Jackson and his own 2004 divorce.

Sharpton also announced a $20 million capital drive to build a House of Justice in Harlem, with an auditorium for rallies and a library of activism.
