The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission released their final report on the economic collapse of 2008 today. Surprisingly, It didn’t reflect a unanimous decision as to how the economic meltdown occurred.

Instead, the four Republican committee members broke with the majority. Peter Wallison, who hails from a conservative think tank, blamed the government’s affordable housing policy as the cause of America’s financial strains.

Ben Jealous, President of NAACP, criticized on this claim and said, “This is distortion and it’s a big distraction. They don’t want you to focus on what actually happened. They don’t want you to go down through the report and see its huge governance failures, its big ethics problems. If they had simply done their job right…this wouldn’t have happened.”
