We’ve heard it all before: Angry. Violent. Irresponsible. Thug. Gangster. Baby Daddy. Tired of seeing the same negative stereotypes of Black men in the media? We all are. The 2025 Game Changers Media Project is doing something about it. The project, executive produced by Forward Ever Media and sponsored by The Open Society Institute’s Campaign for Black Male Achievement, is a national media fellowship for African American males who are determined to reframe the images of black men in America. The project seeks to highlight the many positive, untold stories about men of African descent that often go ignored by mainstream media.
“Game Changer: The 2025 Campaign,” is a micro-documentary that provides a brief history of the 2025 Campaign for Black Men and Boys. The video asks the question:”What can we do to impact the life of a Black boy born in 2007 so that by the time he is 18, in the year 2025, his outcomes for success have significantly improved?” The “Game Changer” video speaks to the larger, multi-year public policy effort beyond the Game Changer Media Project, to improve outcomes for males of African descent.
