A 21-year-old woman was charged Saturday in a hit-and-run crash that severely injured a woman standing at a South Side bus stop last week.
Tyreesha Fraley was identified as the driver of the 1993 Buick LeSabre that struck the 58-year-old woman waiting for a bus at 5:09 p.m. last Wednesday near the intersection of 69th and State Streets, according to News Affairs.
Fraley allegedly drove the car onto the sidewalk and caused life-threatening injuries to the woman, who lost a leg in the crash. Police looked to community activists and volunteers to identify Fraley as the driver.
She was charged with Failure to Report an Accident Involving Injury, Damage to Public Property for hitting a city light pole and bus-stop bench, Driving Without a License, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, Failure to Render Aid to the Injured, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and Negligent Driving, according to News Affairs.
