A Shreveport, Louisiana murder remains unsolved after nearly 15 years. Angerleane Allen was murdered in 1996 and no one has been arrested in connection with the case.

Her family members are now using social media to crack the cold case. Her nephew has launched a Facebook page to get tips. Alonzo Washington is also using YouTube to get some answers. He has already helped solve crimes in Missouri using the internet.

“There’s so many crimes that take place in urban communities across the country and I wanted to be a person that can make a difference,” said Washington.

Allen’s case remains open, and Shreveport police have followed every possible lead. Sgt. Bill Goodin says the department welcomes any help the internet may provide.

“We live in a digital cyber age and anything that’s legal, moral and ethical we are behind 110%,” said Goodin.

Washington is willing to help anyone throughout the country. He believes Facebook is an easier way to get information from people who would normally not want to provide tips.

“If you have tips in your community I make it hip to give tips,” he said.

Washington is hopeful that just by a click of his mouse he can finally bring justice to his family.
