A University of Alabama student is facing disciplinary action after being accused of using a racial slur against an African-American student.

It happened Friday in front of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on campus.

“As I was walking someone from their lower level window yelled ‘Hey, ni**er!’ and he yelled ‘Come here boy!’,” says graduate Justin Zimmerman.

On the advice of his boss Justin reported it to campus police.

Police found the culprit and university officials told him disciplinary action was being taken against the student.

University officials are already citing confidentiality and have no plans to release details of discipline against the student who uttered the racial slur, but Zimmerman says it’s clear what should be done.

“I am hoping that they do the right thing because if I was in California or I was in DC or the northeast he would have already been gone,” he says.
