According to the National Student Clearing House, 46% of Philadelphia’s black males did not graduate from high school last year. This is absolutely unacceptable.

So a group of successful black men recently met with hundreds of Philadelphia students to answer the question that’s been on the minds of many young people in the city: What Does it Take to be successful as a young black male in America?

Held at Philadelphia’s Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity and hosted by CBS Sportscaster James “JB” Brown, the event attracted professional athletes like Andre Iguadala, of the Philadelphia 76ers, top business executives from companies like Nike Inc. and Morgan Stanley, Grammy-winning music producers, and others offering their prescription for changing the game. Forward Ever Media dispatched Bryan Green, a Game Changer Fellow, to investigate.
