Police continue looking for a group of older women dubbed the Mad Hatters, but the buzz that has turned the tale of a local theft ring into international news has prompted several tips.

The news media attention has netted tips from individuals and businesses, Lt. Luke Riley said. The Mad Hatters are named for the hats they have been spotted wearing on surveillance videos.

“We did get some names and now we’re just trying to put it all together,” Riley said. Police have released video photos of the women, hoping someone will help identify them.
