Cuba Gooding Jr., the Oscar winning actor, is hoping to jumpstart his movie career with the upcoming film Hit List. The actor who’s usually played a string of good guys is starring as professional assassin in this action-thriller movie.

Cuba says it was different playing a dark character — one he hasn’t played. “It was an interesting twist to being a bad,” he says.

He describes the character as someone you complain about your wife and boss to only realizing that he’s a hit man who will eventually be targeting them while making you think he’s doing you a favor.

“You take all the rules and throw them off the window and have fun with it,” Cuba says.

He went on to talk about his career path. He described his roles in Boyz n the Hood and Jerry Maguire, as all the success an actor should have and the last ten years as going back to film school — losing himself in characters and being more creative.

Hit List is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
