


Rock The Bells: Lauryn Hill, Nas and Erykah Badu
Similar to last year’s plan, most of the acts will be performing full set albums – Lauryn will take “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Other acts include Cypress Hill, Mos Def and Talib Kweli (as Black Star) and Raekwon and Ghostface. Where else can you find this line-up? They pull into New York on September 3 at Governor’s Island.

The queen of modern-day pop music pulls into Los Angeles on June 28, when she performs her Loud tour at the Staples Center. The stop happens days after the BET Awards, so she might be in a celebratory mood once she hits the stage.

Even if you only want to see the Motown Philly sound singers perform, surely you won’t argue at who else is on this lineup. It’s the annual Essence Music Festival, and the acts are incredible. Aside from Boyz II Men, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Dwele and others are scheduled to hit the Super Dome in New Orleans on Friday, July 1.
