Tawana McNair is proud to say she’s getting her associate’s degree the same year as her high school diploma.
The foster child is one of 35 seniors at Hostos Lincoln Academy receiving a dual diploma at graduation Thursday from Hostos Community College.
“It’s a lot of work – you have to go to school year-round – so it was a lot of balancing, and a lot of people couldn’t handle it,” said McNair, 17. “But as a family at Hostos, we helped each other mend and work together.”
