Ask anyone who’s ever bought a pair of “Air Jordan” sneakers the name of the man who helped launch the most successful brand in basketball shoe history. Chances are they won’t recognize the name Howard “H” White but they should. White, a former college basketball star who was sidelined by a knee injury before he could go pro, joined NIKE and helped guide the career of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

As Vice President of Jordan Brand for NIKE, Inc., and founder of “Believe to Achieve” a national NIKE youth movement, White has built his career on helping athletes realize their dreams. In fact, according to NIKE White’s business savvy and “personal relationship with Michael Jordan elevated NIKE and Jordan to global icon status, generating $200 million in annual sales for Jordan’s signature line.”

Recently, Ali ElMekki, a Philadelphia Game Changer Fellow, interviewed White about “what it takes” to be a game changer, both in one’s career and life.
