When Tonia Pace’s water broke Saturday night, it was almost like God was showing a sense of humor. Six years ago, their daughter Mackynzi was born at 9:25 on Mother’s Day morning, and it looked like it was happening again.

“It was a joke that was going around when my wife first got pregnant, we realized that the due date was going to be in mid-July. Of course Mckenzi was early so we kind of figured that our son would be early too. She kept saying that it was going to be on Father’s Day. ” Says Carl Pace, Tonia’s wife.

“And I was joking because I was saying, oh this is going to be your Father’s Day gift, because it’s a great gift and I don’t have to buy cards.” Tonia said, laughing.

Carl the third was born at nearly the same time as his sister – 9:50am. He will carry two special bonds with his dad. Not only will be his father’s namesake, but they’ll share a special day.

“Just amazing, Father’s Day. This is an awesome gift. My wife has already decided she’s not going to give me a card. I guess I’m okay with that,” Carl said smiling.

“It’s not just your day anymore…Exactly! Now he has to share. I think it’s only fair,” Replied Tonia. Little Carl the Third weighed in at 5 pounds, 15 ounces. Mom Tonia says this is it, she’s done having kids!
