A check cashing store clerk is dead after being shot during a robbery in Broward County, authorities said Tuesday.

Clairemathe Geffrard, 25, was gunned down during the morning robbery at 2927 W. Sunrise Boulevard. It’s unclear exactly who shot the woman, who was initially believed to be a hostage when authorities arrived on scene.

“He didn’t just kill my wife,” said James Sinvil, her husband of one year. “He killed me and the whole family because everyone is in pain.”

In total, three people were shot after Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the incident, including 33-year-old suspect Stanley Beasley and innocent bystander Jorge Aguilar.
