For all you “gleeks” out there, Glee is back tonight with the highly anticipated season 3 premiere!

Throughout the past two seasons, Amber Riley’s character, Mercedes Jones has shined as the only black member of the fictional high school glee club, “New Directions”. Mercedes is a self-proclaimed “diva in training, with a flair for fashion, who refuses to sing back-up.”

Thus far Mercedes has had crushes on her high school classmates Kurt and Puck, but has yet to be in a long term relationship. Last month Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that this season Amber Riley’s character will finally have a boyfriend. “I don’t think there’s been enough Amber,” Murphy said. LaMarcus Tinker from Friday Night Lights will join the show as Marcus, the love interest for Mercedes.

Because the show focuses on the high school experience, eventually all the members of New Directions must graduate. In a recent interview Riley said this could possibly be her last season on Glee. “I may not be coming back for a fourth season. I love my job to pieces, but when it’s time to go, it’s time to go and, hopefully, there are greater things on the horizon,” she said.

Fans of Mercedes will be tuning in this season to watch the starlet belt out even more tunes and hopefully find love.

Here are our picks of the top 10 Mercedes moments on Glee.
