He may be holed up in the studio working on his holiday album, but Justin Bieber still snuck in some time to cover one of the summer’s biggest hits: Lil Wayne’s “How to Love.”

This morning, Justin wished the rapper a belated happy birthday (Wayne turned 29 on Sept. 27) via Twitter, linking to a YouTube clip of his go at “Love.” Unlike Demi Lovato’s recent take on it, the Biebs’ acoustic-guitar version of Weezy’s Auto-Tuned ballad about a heartbroken girl also features his own new rap verses.

“I just need you by my side/ Baby, we could be alright/ I just want to hold you right when we go into the night,” he rhymes. Sweet, right? With lines like that, there’s no wondering why the young charmer takes his famous lady friend out for romantic nights on the town.
