Legendary Hip-Hop duo Eric B. & Rakim are among 15 acts who have been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame class of 2012.

Among nominations announced by the Hall on Tuesday include Gun N’ Roses, Joan Jett, and The Cure, along with previous nominees the Beastie Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and War.

Rakim is considered by many as one of the top MCs ever to touch a microphone, while as a duo, Eric B. & Rakim are best known for their ‘80’s hits “Eric B Is President,” “I Aint No Joke,” “Juice (Know the Ledge)” and “Microphone Fiend.”
