Viola Davis adopts a baby girl
She showed she can be a baby whisperer in the box office smash The Help. And now the actress and her husband Julius Tennon have announced that they’ve adopted a baby girl. But I wouldn’t hold my breath for Viola to try and monetize on this new chapter of her life by posing for cover of People or US Weekly with her new baby. She is so much classier than that. (LA Times)

Paula Patton is the new ambassador for CoverGirl

Will Smith buys a part of the Philadelphia 76ers
Will Smith is flossin’ his money like Jay-Z these days. The Philly native and his wife are officially minority shareholders of the 76ers NBA team. Forbes valued the team at $330 million this year — which is 17th in the league. The Smiths join rappers Jay-Z, Nelly and Usher as entertainers-turned-part NBA owners with this investment. I just hope the team uses The Fresh Prince theme song as the tune they walk out to for every game. (NY Daily News)

Nia Long says that she “asked God” for her pregnancy

Love & Hip Hop season 2 looks to be a hot mess!
This week the super-trailer for season 2 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop hit the web, and needless to say…the show is still a hot mess. This season the network is giving the reality show a much more explosive storyline with fighting, weave pulling, and too many bleeped out words to count. (Necole Bitchie)

Amber Rose shows off her new stomach tattoo
Last Time I heard of someone getting a stomach tattoo was in the early 90’s when Tupac had “thug life” inked onto his abs. Awww, Keysia Cole’s sister Neffe will do anything to make a couple of dollars these days. This week she released a trailer for a reality show about her and her 7 kids that she is shopping around to different networks. The worst part about this is I would totally watch the show if it got picked up for production. Would you? (Vimeo)

Chris Rock defends Tyler Perry for wearing skirts
In a recent interview with Vibe, Chris Rock decided to stand up for Tyler Perry, Martin Lawrence and other cross-dressing black actors who do drag for a paycheck. “I mean, hey, lots of comedians dress up like women, not just Black. Tyler Perry is great in a dress, but I don’t want to see Denzel or Will Smith in a dress. And I don’t think we’re in any danger of seeing that,” he said. (Concrete Loop)
