LONDON (AP) – A man has denied plotting to kidnap and murder soul singer Joss Stone.

Kevin Liverpool and another man, Junior Bradshaw, were arrested in June near Stone’s secluded house in the town of Cullompton, 175 miles (280 kilometers) southwest of London. At a previous hearing, prosecutors said a samurai sword and notes mentioning Stone’s name were found in their car.

Liverpool, 34, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit robbery Monday at Exeter Crown Court.

Bradshaw has not yet entered a plea.

Both men were ordered detained until their trial next August.

Grammy winner Stone said after the men were arrested that she was “absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal.”
