On the same day 14-year-old Kelli O’Laughlin was laid to rest, bond was denied for the man charged in the Indian Head Park teen’s murder.

John Wilson Jr., 38, of Chicago was charged with first-degree murder and residential burglary.

The charges were expected all day Thursday but never came, to the frustration of investigators.

Prosecutors Want 11-15 Years for Rezko

During a Thursday evening news conference, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said “we’ve worked a lot of leads and we’ve answered a lot of questions, and we feel very confident about the case and about the individual that is in custody right now.”
