Welcome to the week in pop culture. Here’s all the latest and greatest black entertainment news from the week that was.

Baby, Baby, Baby, No?
The talk of the town this week is that 17-year-old Justin Bieber allegedly fathered a child with a 20-year-old fan. Mariah Yeater filed a paternity suit against the Canadian pop singer, but may find herself in hot water. The Associated Press is reporting that Yeater could face statutory rape charges if her claim is true because Bieber, at the time, was a 16-year-old minor.

Oh no!
Songstress Monica’s New Life CD has been pushed back. The album was originally scheduled for a November 7 release but has been pushed back until 2012. Monica took to her Twitter page to say, “RCA & I are restructuring the entire plan for the album & the entire movement.”

Take a bow
Ms. Alicia Keys gets the celebrity do-gooder award of the week as she hosted her 8th Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball on November 3 in New York City. The star-studded event was attended by the likes of Clive Davis, Kerry Washington, Queen Latifah and of course her husband Swizz Beats.

Let’s have a toast to the douchebags
Kanye West may just want that old thing back. The rapper gave a shout out to his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose during Watch the Throne tour stop in Philly on November 2. A seemingly remorseful West told the crowd, “To the city of Philly, I wanna thank y’all for making the incredible person that this song was made for” during his song “Runaway.”

Can’t stop ‘The Bawse’
Rick Ross stopped by 106 and Park on November 2 and gave details on what caused his recent health scare. Ross said his two seizures in one day were caused by a lack of rest. The rapper has been on a promotional kick in anticipation of his December 13 release God Forgives, I Don’t.

His purple highness still reigns
On this day in 1984, Prince kicked of his Purple Rain tour, which was a follow up to his highly successful film of the same name. The album spent 24 weeks at the top of the charts and is Prince’s most popular album of all time.

Vivica A. Fox’s cub has left the cougar lair
The 46-year-old actress’ younger boo-thang Omar ‘Slimm’ White, 28, confirmed that he and Fox indeed broke up. Fox may be a newly single lady, but may soon be on the prowl again.

Happy birthday Diddy!
Today is music mogul Sean “P.Diddy” Combs’ 42nd birthday. The impending special day must have put the Diddy Dirty Money star in a giving mood as he was spotted giving a homeless man $20 the day before his birthday in Beverly Hills.

Oh snap!
Actress Gabourey Sidibe is a pretty feisty chick. A playful wig pulling catfight ensued between the Precious star and talk show host Wendy Williams when the Precious star stopped by the show to promote her new movie Tower Heist.

Vincent Herbert’s fine.com
The husband of Braxton Family Values star Tamar Braxton, was recently released from the hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lungs two weeks ago. The Braxton’s were initially shaken up but are back to promoting the upcoming second season of their hit reality TV show.
