Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

From the New York Daily News:

The 15-year-old Brooklyn rap phenom known as “Astro” may have been booted from the “X Factor” TV show but he’s ready to become a chart topper on the hip-hop scene.

“I’m happy. I wish everyone [on the X Factor] the best of luck,” Astro told the Daily News Sunday after returning from his talent-show star turn in Los Angeles.

“Now, I could just release music.”

The rapper, whose real name is Brian Bradley, has no doubt he’s going blow up the charts.

“I know I’m going to be the next big hip-hop artist,” he said. “I just want to save hip-hop . . . that’s my job.”

He admitted that walking off the stage Thursday after being eliminated from Simon Cowell’s new Fox TV show left him fighting tears.

“Not to sound too cocky, I could care less if I got the least amount of votes,” he said.
