From Daily Mail: Record numbers of guns were bought by people in the U.S. during December, it has emerged.

The FBI has said the number of background checks required to buy firearms has already topped the previous one-month record which was set last month.

That figure was 1,534,414 inquiries by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
