Whitney Houston is reportedly flat broke

Whitney Houston is destitute and ‘broke as a joke,’ according to Radar Online. The popular celebrity gossip site posted a story yesterday that the Grammy Award winning singer has his rock bottom and lost her fortune.

Whitney, 48, reportedly has blown through an enormous amount of cash that she accumulated from decades of super stardom.

“Whitney’s fortune is gone,” the source said. “Music industry heavy hitters are supporting her and her label is fronting her cash against her next album, but no one knows when that will be released. She might be homeless if not for people saving her. She is broke as a joke.”

The single mom has allegedly been so strapped for cash that that she ‘called someone to asked for $100,’ according to a source.

In August 2001, the “I Will Always Love You” singer signed a six album record deal with Arista/BMG for $100 million, which was the biggest record deal in music history at the time.

Since then she has released 3 albums, Just Whitney, 2002, One Wish: The Holiday Album, 2003, and I Look to You, 2009; all which failed to achieve the acclaim of her earlier work.

Houston just finished filming Sparkle, her first film since 1996’s The Preacher’s Wife. She stars alongside Jordan Sparks in the modern remake of the 1976 classic film.

In a statement to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Houston adamantly denied the allegations that she is strapped for cash.

“That is ridiculous and not true! She stars in Sparkle out in August which she also [executive] produced. She just wrapped the film.”

Houston has yet to comments on the rumors that she is broke.
