From NBC Chicago: The man accused of binding his 1-year-old daughter’s hands, feet and mouth with tape, then posting a photo of the girl on Facebook offered his thanks Sunday to those who helped get him out of jail. Andre Curry told members at Life Center Church in the Washington Park neighborhood:

“First off, I’d like to thank God for His grace and His mercy. I would like to thank Pastor Torrey and everyone behind me for their support and everything that they’ve done for me. Most important of all, I’d like to thank Life Center for all of your prayers, all your donations and all your signatures. From the bottom of my heart. You are part of the reason I am free today. I praise you. I promise I will do everything in my power to bring youth to Christ.”

Curry got out of jail Friday night, after being held for a month on charges of aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint.

The church sent a letter to the judge in Curry’s case, asking for no jail time, Pastor Torrey Barrett said. They want Curry to make a public apology, complete 500 hours of community service and commit to parental counseling.
