Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld recently gave an interview to Metro US and is getting slammed for comments her made about Adele’s body type. The Daily Mail reports that the fashion mogul said, “She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.” The 78-year-old compares Adele’s body to that of up-and-coming singer Lana Del Rey.

He’s the king of the catwalk and spends his living eyeing up glamorous ladies. But even Karl Lagerfeld’s latest comments are sure to rile Adele’s legion of admiring fans.

The designer has dubbed the singer ‘a little too fat’ during a no holds barred interview. But realising his comments may be controversial, the fashion guru quickly backtracked and insisted she has ‘a beautiful face and a divine voice.’

Speaking to Metro, the 78-year-old discussed what he thought about new singing sensation Lana Del Rey, before going on to spill all about his views on Adele. He said: ‘I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad.The thing at the moment is Adele.
