Boxing great Floyd Mayweather is making news for commentary unrelated to the sport he dominates. Thursday afternoon, Mayweather tweeted that New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin’s hype is due to his Chinese and Taiwanese heritage. The current WBC welterweight champion also said black players put up similar numbers to Lin and do not receive the same credit.

Lin, who was recently named Eastern Conference player of the week, has led the Knicks to four straight wins. He’s averaged 27.3 points and 8.3 assists over the four-game span and exceeded his teammates and most fans’ expectations.
