Grace Hightower, wife of Robert De Niro, was snapped by the paparazzi with her newborn baby, Helen Grace, while taking a walk in New York City on Monday.
The two-month-old infant, who was born with the help of a surrogate, is the second child of the couple, who split in 1997, but renewed their vows in 2004. They also have a 14-year-old son together.
At 56, Hightower looked fresh-faced and happy as she toted her young daughter in a car seat. According to CelebrityBabyScoop.com, De Niro, 68, “also has two adult children with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, and twin sons from another previous relationship.”
The birth of their daughter brought the issue of surrogacy into the mainstream press at time when many celebrities have begun coming forward about the practice. Sarah Jessica Parker has admitted to using a surrogate, while by contrast stars like Beyonce and Katie Holmes have been plagued by rumors of engaging a surrogate’s services.
