Skylar Turner was born with half a heart. First diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome at 20 weeks, Michelle and LaFayette Turner were faced with three options.

Doctors said they could carry the baby to full term followed by a comfortable death, termination or three surgeries.

It was an easy decision.

Dr. Eric Mendeloff performed Skylar’s first surgery on February 21st. Since then, Michelle and LaFayette have been keeping a close eye on their growing baby girl. Unfortunately, not every day is good, but they talk about it, and press on.

It’s faith that keeps this family going, faith and a strong baby.
