Nicki Minaj’s departure from Twitter has been the source of considerable controversy. It was first reported that she left the social media site after her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded leaked early. Then, the rap/pop star claimed she just wanted “space.” Now that her page has been reinstated she has reportedly lost 10 million followers. MediaBistro reports:

Last week we reported that, following an altercation with a fan, music star Nicki Minaj deleted her Twitter profile, and with it more than 11 million followers.

Well, that decision didn’t last too long, as Minaj reactivated her account yesterday. In the process, however, she lost an awful lot of followers – her current tally is about 10 million short.

Minaj recently appeared on the UK’s The Graham Norton Show, where she promised her fans that she would return to Twitter.
