Academy Award winner Denzel Washington will star in the Paramount drama Flight as a distressed pilot. The film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, is set to hit theaters nationwide on November 2, 2012. In the midst of award season, this film has potential to rake in the major accolades. EurWeb reports:

*Robert Zemeckis’ Paramount drama “Flight,” starring Denzel Washington as a distressed pilot, will open nationwide on Nov. 2, 2012 — smack dab in the middle of awards season.

Flight marks Zemeckis’ first return to live-action movie since “Cast Away” and “What Lies Beneath,” both released in 2000.

“Flight,” also starring Don Cheadle, John Goodman, Kelly Reilly and Oscar winner Melissa Leo, is about the troubling personal discoveries that follow a pilot’s emergency landing.
