FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Prosecutors in Michigan have rested their case in the first murder trial for an Israeli immigrant accused of a deadly stabbing spree two years ago.

In just five days, Genesee County prosecutors have offered DNA and other evidence against Elias Abuelazam (EE’-lee-us ah-BOOL’-ah-zahm). He’s charged with killing 49-year-old Arnold Minor in the wee hours near downtown Flint.

Fourteen people were stabbed in and around Flint in summer 2010, and five died. Abuelazam is charged with three murders and six attempted murders.

One of the survivors, Bill Fisher, testified Tuesday. He was the fourth survivor to recall for the jury how he was stabbed by a motorist who had asked him for help.

Fisher pulled up his shirt to show jurors his stab wound and identified Abuelazam as his attacker.
