A family is in shock and disbelief  in Detroit after what they call a freak accident. Fifteen-year-old Kadijah James died from a gunshot wound to the chest that she sustained when her brother “accidentally” shot her. “The gun accidentally went off and hit her in the chest,” said her aunt Charmaine Crowell. The brother was playing with the gun when it went off. Action News has the story:

A freak accident.  That is what family members are calling the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl.

15-year-old Kadijah James died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest.

“If God would send her back that would be a blessing.  Please.” said her cousin Al Frazier.

Police said Kadijah’s 17-year-old brother shot her while playing with a gun.  They were in their home in the 3600 block of Lenox when the gun went off.  They were home alone with another teenage relative.

“The gun accidentally went off and hit her in the chest,” said aunt Charmaine Crowell.
