NBC New York - A New Jersey woman has been indicted on an animal cruelty charge after being accused of tossing a family’s small dog into traffic during a parking dispute, killing the animal.
Twenty-five-year-old Haniyyah Barnes of Newark also faces charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that Barnes kicked in a neighbor’s door and threatened and assaulted a person there. When the family’s Shih Tzu ran into the room and barked at Barnes, she allegedly grabbed the dog by the throat, ran outside and threw it into traffic.
