The Obamas, who vacationed in August in Martha’s Vineyard for the first three years of his term, are skipping the trip this year, according to the Boston Globe.
The White House has not yet commented on these reports, but the Globe reported that the estate where the First Family usually stays will now be occupied by a British couple.
“The word I have is that they are not coming this year,” State Police Sergeant Thomas Medeiros told the Globe. He said that notice came from the Secret Service.
That decision may give the president more time to campaign across the country ahead of the November elections.
