More changes are coming to American Idol judge’s panel. In the wake of Steven Tyler’s recent decision to leave the show after just one season, Jennifer Lopez announced today that she would also be leaving the Fox singing competition show. Now, rumor has it Randy Jackson might make his exit next, while Mariah Carey is being courted to fill one of the panel’s vacancies. The Huffington Post reports:

It’s been quite a week in “American Idol” news, and a few other big changes may be headed to the Fox singing competition show.

According to Us Weekly, Mariah Carey is in talks to join the judges panel, while Randy Jackson may be stepping down. “They are in serious talks with Mariah and it’s very close to being a done deal,” a source told Us. “And they will move Randy into a more mentoring role.”

On Thursday, Steven Tyler officially stepped down after two years on “Idol.”

“After some long … hard … thoughts … I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit,” the Aerosmith singer said in a statement. “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back — but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band.”
